Hi, I am Elena, the main teacher and the creator of Glow Yoga Maastricht.

Originally from Siberia, I have been living in Limburg since 2009. My yoga journey started many years ago, and at first it was just a physical practice. I never was a fan of sweating in a gym and I felt like yoga was the perfect alternative to build up strength, flexibility and to stay revitalised. It was not until I was going through a challenging period in my life that I realised that yoga actually makes me feel better. I began to discover that yoga has many more layers to it than just the physical practice of asanas.

In 2019 I was looking to get a deeper understanding of yoga and joined a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Ubud, Bali. This was a transformational experience! The training showed me so much on the physical and spiritual sides, and I keep on learning every day. When I came back from Bali I just knew that I wanted to teach yoga so that more people can discover the healing and transformational qualities of yoga. And so, I began teaching in yoga studios and fitness clubs throughout Limburg. In 2021 I chose to expand my practice and teachings further and I followed a 85-hour Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Arhanta Yoga to help expecting moms through their yoga practice when pregnant. This amazing training helped me to rediscover my femininity and a feeling of kindness towards myself, but also taught me how to safely continue or start practicing yoga during pregnancy. Now I am very happy to be able to share this knowledge with future moms in my own studio in the beautiful centre of Maastricht.

In my classes I would like you to connect with your true self and experience the stillness of mind while the body stays in movement. I want you to rediscover your body and breath and to feel that both are connected. I try to show my students that the restrictions of the body are often only the restrictions of the mind and that it is possible to substantially increase the limits of what is possible. I try do this in the most safe and comfortable way, with a lot of respect to my students and their individuality.

I look forward to seeing you in one of my classes!
